AudioRoute

Postby admin » Thu Mar 19, 2009 6:37 pm

After several years of tests and many questions in the development forum, we've finally did it: a tool to route the audio to the earpiece speaker is available, and we've released it as freeware.

Image

This is a freeware tool that can be used to route the audio from the earpiece speaker to the backspeaker and vice versa.
A good addon for VoIP utilities.

Compatibility
Windows Mobile pocket pc or smartphone.

Usage
Install the CAB and use the titlebar icon to open the user interface.
Image

The first icon routes the audio to the earpiece speaker.
The second blue icon, can be used to route the audio to the backspeaker.
The orange icon, routes the audio to the speakerphone, while in a phone call.
You can also use the bottom slider to move the taskbar icon, or the about button to show this page.
The top-right square hides the user interface.

Command line
This tool can be executed by command line with parameters.
You can execute /program files/teksoft/audioRoute/audioRoute.exe with the following:
-earpiece , routes the audio to the earpiece
-backspeaker , routes the audio to the backspeaker
-speakerphone , while in a phone call, activates the speakerphone
-switch , toggles between earpiece and backspeaker
Code: Select all
audioroute.exe -earpiece
audioroute.exe -backspeaker
etc.

Download
The CAB file is available in the freeware section of www.teksoftco.com, direct link here.

you need the earphones, because they work like an antenna for the built in radio.

it's standard functionality on most of the mobile phones.

I know, there would have been some better alternatives...

I have a Palm Treo 700Wx, running Windows Mobile 5.0. I tried this program in all of its versions and it will not work. Can anyone explain why it doesn't work on the Palm Treo? I ran Nimbuzz and Skype. I get the icon in the top of the screen and I can pull down the menu and get the globes. When I click on them they change the color of the icon from blue to orange and back, but the sound continues to come from the back speaker. I have no clue as to what to do from here. Help me out if you can. Thanks!!!

PS... When I downloaded the .CAB file and installed it, I did get a message that said that the application was for an earlier version of Windows and may not display properly, but it did and ran when I started it up. It just doesn't work.

Microphone disabled when earpiece on

Postby ejlmd » Wed Mar 25, 2009 3:33 am

Beatiful little application. Unfortunately, on my HTC Vogue (latest Sprint/HTC stock rom with Windows mobile 6.1), when the sound is routed through the earpiece the microphone is completely disabled.
When I tried the latest version of Fring, the same thing happens with their audiorouting capability, so maybe there's something that needs to be separately addressed for this phone?

Thank you in advance for any assistance with this issue.

Yes, it requires a change:

- to only route the speakers but not the microphone.

This change was added to audioroute 1.2.010 but then changed back in 1.2.020 since this doesn't seem to work on most devices.

Hi,
thanks for the app. The commandline version works OK on my smartphone HTC S730, despite the fact that is not installable on smartphone. I had to change OS version attributes in the cab to make the installation work.

Can you post how you did that + tools involved and a few screen captures?

I'm sure others will need this kind of info.
