2 captures/capture?

Postby mkss55442 » Mon Jan 22, 2007 4:17 am

Is it normal for every other capture to be a blank screen in the unregistered version? I'm testing it on an Axim x51v.

In the un-registered CapturePro, a black X is applied to all screen captures (more info here: http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?sect ... o#Register )

The software was tested successfully on a Axim X51V, and there are no known issues.

Yep understand the "X". But every other capture is a blank screen.

mkss55442, what are the settings you are using?

I'm interested in Format and Zoom level and if you are using the Multishot or simple capture?

Thanks...

Is there a singular form for "details"? Like thanks for the detail?

It would help to know the rest:

Sorry, didn't realize I couldn't get that info until I restarted the app from the desktop. Here are the settings:
Session Name: Default
Image format: JPG
Image Quality: 70%
Zoom factor: 100%
Text over: Unchecked
Choose color: Looks like black (I didn't change it)
Alignment: Left (all are grayed out)
Save in subfolder 'Default'

Device: Axim x51v running A12 ROM

When using Single shot, every other capture is blank. I switched to 1 capture every 10 seconds and all captures (I quit after 6) were blank. I then switched to 1 every second and there doesn't appear to be any pattern on which capture is blank and which works. Hope this helps.

After posting the "details", is what I'm seeing normal for the trial?

Actually not. The trial applies an X and that's it.

What kind of connection is between your axim and your pc?

I'm standing with a Dell Axim x51v on my desk right now, and honnestly I don't understand going on there  Also, there were no other reports to point to a possible problem...

So the only idea i see now is that somehow the connection is too slow and the snapshot download from device to pc timeouts.

Here are the tests we have done on the same device and htc wm 5.0 devices (this shouldn't matter as the library involved is developed by MSFT).
Desktop OS: Windows XP Pro/Home
Active Sync Version: Microsoft Active Sync 4.1.0 build (4829)
Result (on the same settings mentioned above) : OK

Desktop OS: Windows XP Pro/Home
Active Sync Version: Microsoft Active Sync 4.5.0 build (5096)
Result (on the same settings mentioned above) : OK

Clearly at this stage the problem is from side of Active Sync or other 3rd party software installed on the desktop that acts as a firewall and blocks RAPI calls. We would also mention that Windows Vista using WMDC sync application is not currently including RAPI.dll so the probability to have a non functional CapturePro is very high.

As a note to make sure that active sync is properly working and remote calls are successfull make sure that device browsing with the built in (active sync browse utility - explore) is properly working.

Best regards,

I've been trying CapturePro on my PC/Fujitsu N560 and it works fine.

A request for consideration though: At present CP seems to be 2 separate apps- a PPC based screen capture, which stores captures in My Documents, and a PC based app which stores captures on a selected folder on the PC.

This can be acheived by a number of other apps, but what would make CP great would be if the PPC captures could be synced back to the PC version during the next Activesync.

This would be very useful in my job reviewing apps for 4WinMobile - so I could do a few screencaps when I have a spare moment duing the day, then have CapturePro conveniently assemble them on the PC automatically.
