  • Introduction
    BlueInput for Android is an advanced software that allows you to connect a Bluetooth Keyboard or Mouse to your Android device, to type emails faster, browse the internet easier and manage your applications in the most convenient way. All in one, a unique new experience, that transforms your Mobile Device into the perfect Mobile Office solution.

    Compatibility
    A) Bluetooth Input Devices Compatibility
    The BlueInput Driver was designed to function with any standard HID Device. Since most of the Bluetooth Keyboards support the HID Protocol by design, you will be happy to see your Bluetooth device works with BlueInput out of the box.
    B) Android OS Compatibility
    Blueinput was designed to run on Android OS 1.5 and above.
    Because of the big number of Android devices available on the Market, we cannot guarantee that the software will work on your particular hardware configuration. We've provided a trial version that can be used without the need for a registration key so please run it to test the compatibility. Purchase the software only if it works with your device.
    The version 1.6.130 works with devices that have the BlueZ stack installed only. However we've designed Blueinput in a modular way, so we will be able to plug an play new stack modules to extend the Android compatibility list.
    The version 1.7.220 supports the Android 2.0, 2.1 or newer, Bluetooth SDK, so this extends the compatibility list even further.

    Installing BlueInput
    To install the software on your mobile device, you need to download the APK files from BlueInput download page. Next, follow the steps below:
    1.Copy the APK file to an Micro SD Card or another type of card that fits your Android device
    2.Insert the Card containing the BlueInput APK in your Android device.
    3.Use the Market to install a free software like the APK Installer, or APK Manager, and use it to browse the content of your SD Card
    4.Using the APK Tool, select the Blueinput APK file on the Card and install it
    Alternativelly, you can use the Google Market to search for BlueInput and install the software from there.

    Configuration and Troubleshooting
    After BlueInput is successfully installed on your Android you need to pair with the Bluetooth Keyboard. To learn how to connect the Bluetooth Keyboard to your mobile device use the following guide:
    Step1: Turn On your Bluetooth Keyboard and press the connect/discoverable button.
    Step2: On your Android, go to Settings->Locale&Text or Settings->Language&Keyboard, and make sure BlueInput is checked like in the image below:
    Step3: If more then one Input Methods are selected, tap and hold on a editable text field, and select BlueInput from the IME list
    Step4: When BlueInput is selected, tap an editable text filed to open the BlueInput Virtual Keyboard GUI (Blueinput IME):

    Step5: Open Programs->Blueinput and press the Scan button (or Menu->Search/Discover) to search for nearby Bluetooth HID devices:

    Step6: When the results are displayed, tap an item to connect:
    Step7: You need to do this only once, each time you start using the Bluetooth keyboard or mouse.

    Troubleshooting:
    Here are a few solutions for error messages displayed by the Blueinput driver:
    "No devices found." Solution: This error means the software was unable to detect a nearby Bluetooth HID device. Make sure you've turned on your keyboard or mouse, and that it is in Discoverable mode.
    "Bluetooth is turned off."
    Go to Settings->Wireless and enable Bluetooth.
    "Failed to connect to"
    Make sure your HID device is in discoverable mode and try again.

    Options panel
    To open the options panel, open the programs list and start Blueinput, or press the first button in the Blueinput Virtual keyboard screen.
    The interface has four tabs, STATUS, DEVICES, SETTINGS and ABOUT. On each page, you can press Menu to access a menu with additional options. The STATUS page, lets you see stats about the Bluetooth Radio mode, the CAPS Lock and Num Lock keys and the connected HID devices (bluetooth keyboards or mouses). You can tap on a connected HID to disconnect it.
    The DEVICES page is used to search for nearby devices. The results are shown in a list. Tapping an item would make the software connect to it.
    The SETTINGS page can be used to configure the sound effects and the keyboard layout.
    Version 1.6.130 supports the default US layout.
    Version 1.7.X comes with Bluetooth SDK support (selected by default) to handle the Bluetooth interface. The user can user the JNI native code interface instead, if the software fails to work properly.
    A new debug option has been added to the SETTINGS panel, to display application details in LogCat.
    The ABOUT page shows the software version and other useful info, and contains the registration dialog. The trial version can be used for 16 days as a demo, then you need to either remove or register Blueinput. To register, write down your Device ID number as displayed in the ABOUT page, then go to Teksoft Website (http://www.teksoftco.com), Blueinput for Android section, to purchase a license key. Enter the license key in the KEY field and press Register.

    The Device ID
    When purchasing a license key, make sure you write down the Device ID of your mobile device, as displayed in the ABOUT tab in the Blueinput interface. This Device ID is a 15 digit long number.
    For the license key to work as expected, the Device ID, as displayed in the Blueinput About must be used.

    BlueInput Registration
    Go to the BlueInput Options panel :

    Carefully copy the serial number information from the Teksoft License Email that you've received after purchasing the software, and enter it into the appropriate fields in the registration window. Try to avoid typographical errors that might result in your registration code not being accepted by the program. After the serial number is entered, you can click Register. The program will display a registration confirmation.
    The unregistered version allows the use of all the features for 16 days, but after 200 key presses an automated message ([BLUEINPUT DEMO]) is inserted in your document. This restriction is removed once the program is registered.
