About CapturePRO
With CapturePro, In a few easy steps, you can create screen captures of your favorite Mobile Device.
While providing powerful options for the more advanced users, CapturePro remains an easy to use tool.
With the built-in Wizard you can go through the required configuration process. Just a few clicks, and you are done.
Getting Started
CapturePro is a Desktop PC tool for creating Mobile screen captures. It runs on Microsoft Windows, and it requires
a data connection to your Mobile device. Usually this connection is achieved using a Data Cable that comes with your
mobile device. Consult your Mobile device manual to learn how to connect it to your Windows Desktop PC.
Starting CapturePRO brings the User Interface. You need to select your Mobile Device platform out of currently 3
platforms available: Windows Mobile, Android or Blackberry. The next CapturePRO upgrade will also enable the forth
option: Symbian. To select a platform, click on the corresponding device image:
 Fig.1: The CapturePRO user interface
After the platform is selected, CapturePRO tries to connect to your Mobile Device. Make sure you follow the on-screen
instructions and connect the Mobile Device to your Desktop PC using the USB Data Cable. Consult your Mobile Device manual
for more information on how to connect it to your Windows Desktop PC. The "Please wait" screen in Fig.2 will be shown until the connection is
properly established. If the screen doesn't change for a long period, you might need to check your Data Cable and to ensure
you've installed the Mobile Device drivers on your Windows Desktop Computer:
Fig.2: Connecting to a Mobile Device
The "Please wait" screen should turn into "Connected" in just a few seconds:
Fig.3: Device successfully connected
Now you are ready to take screen captures, and apply lots of advanced graphical filters, including watermarks, optical flare, texture, blur and many more.
The result can be saved in several well known graphical formats Bitmap, JPEG, GIF, TIFF or PNG with variable quality factor.
 Fig.4: Screen Capture interface
To start taking screen captures, press the big Top-Right Capture Button. The 6 stages progress indicator at the bottom will turn green
during the data exchange. The screen shot appears as a thumbnail. Use the right side arrows to browse through your screen captures or to zoom in or out.
Right clicking a thumbnail brings up a context menu with several advanced options:
Fig.5: Click a thumbnail for more options
You can also use double click on the thumbnail to automatically open the screen capture at full size in your favorite image viewer.
The "Project name", set by default to "CapturePRO" is a name identifier for the set of images you're currently capturing. They are stored under the folder
indicated by the "Project Path" field. To change the project path and have your images stored to a different location, including network folder, press
the button next to "Project path" and browse for a new folder:
Fig.6: Browsing for a new project folder to save the screen captures
The "File format" section and the "Quality" slider allows you to select the graphical format to use when saving the screen captures. If you're new
to image editing, it's enough to know that BMP files have the best quality but use more storage space, and that JPG files on the other side offer
the compromise between quality and storage space, also adjustable with the "Quality" slider.
The "Text over" is a must have for magazine editors. Doing a large numbers of screen captures for review purposes might also require that a digital
watermark is added, to ensure the image copyright. With "Text over" you can add your magazine name over the image automatically and adjust the text color
and the transparency, using the "Alpha" slider:
Fig.7: Two different transparency levels on Text Over
To disable the Text over simply clear the Text in the Text Over field.
Press "Open Dir" to open your Project folder and see all the thumbnails in Windows Explorer.
"Back" takes you to the initial interface, and you can select a different Mobile Platform.
The right-bottom "Menu" button opens a new interface page where you can read the Help, see the About information or Register your CapturePRO copy.
Windows Mobile
When first connecting your Windows Mobile Pocket PC or Smartphone to your Windows Desktop PC, you will receive a notification to install the software
driver for the new hardware. Before taking screen captures, you need to install ActiveSync (for Windows XP/2000) or
Microsoft Device Center (for Vista/Windows 7 or above). To download these programs and learn more about how to connect your Windows Mobile device to your
Desktop computer see this
Microsoft page.
Warning: before taking screen captures using CapturePRO, install the Sync software or the drivers for your Mobile Device!
Android
When first connecting your Android device to your Windows Desktop PC, a notification informing you that new hardware is detected pops up:

Choose "Install from a list or specific location" and browse to the Android Windows Driver folder. The driver can be downloaded from the
Android website.

Blackberry devices when connected to a Windows Desktop PC also require a driver before they can be used with CapturePRO 2.0.
So the very first time you connect the Blackberry to your computer via the USB Data cable, you'll get a "new hardware detected" notification:

Applying filters for special effects
CapturePRO 2.0 comes with a large number predefined filters, that can improve the look of your mobile screen captures before publication.
The first option to consider is the "Text Over", that can add a Watermark over each captured image automatically. By doing so you make sure you're on the
safe side regarding copyright issues. To use the Text over, add a text in the interface, choose a color and the transparency.
The other filters can be accessed by right clicking the Thumbnail of a previously taken screen capture. After you apply a filter, you can always revert by
using the "Undo last" option available in the right click popup too.
Basic GFX includes the first part of the available filters.
